Hi Folks,

first of all please forgive me my bad english but i am a german guy ;)

I have a big problem, i also want to use my linkstation for playstation3. So i thought, i build one folder called "Daten" (data in english) and in this folder i build 3 other folders called Music / photos / videos (all words in english!).

But now i have the problem, that i doenst found any files at my ps3. Why?

At the webinterface of my linkstation there is the menu called "Mediaserver". In this section i can start the mediaserver and i have to select one path. But i want to split all 3 type of files. And i dont want to put all files in one folder together.

So what should i have to do that i have one main folder and 3 different folders in it, where i can place these 3 types of media?

Can anyone help me please?

Go to 192.168.20.108:9050/config  (use your LS's ip address instead of mine of course)

In there you can specify what folders contain what info. I use this feature to seperate images/videos I don't want family finding while searching files on the PS3 by accident.

Make sure you click on rescan content directories when you finish.

FYI, the internet radio option doesn't work, so don't waste your time.  It is a known bug with this version of Twonkyserver.

Best of luck,

Jeff

Thanks a lot for your help jeff, but what the hell is twonky???

I just wanted to get it all fine with the original webinterface of buffalo?

Isn´t it possible? Could it only work with this twonky thing?

jeffla

The built in media server is Twonky server. When you set it up via your buffalo nas web admin page, you are just using a skin basically for the Twonky config page. You are not able to do what you want from the buffalo "skin". You will need to log into your twonky server like I posted above. Why....I don't know, that's just the way it is. Well at least for my ls-xhl. Jeff

When i try it with my ip and without the port 9050, then it also open up the interface of buffalo and not of twonky. Do i have to buy the software of twonky?

If i dont have to buy it, what could be my correct port instead of 9050? Where can i find it?

jeffla

Maybe your server software is different than mine. We do have different nas machines, but I thought they ran similar software. What happens when you try ipaddress:9000 ?

m4soN

Nothing happens :(

But please answer me my question, do i have to buy the software of twonky, or is it already installed on your buffalo station?

I must reactivate this Thread because i still have no idea how to get it work!

I´ll try now to explain my problem in all details again.

So i have a Computer and a PlayStation 3. I want to use my Buffalo Link Station Pro Duo 1TB as a Mediaserver for my PS3 and select JPG (Pictures), MPG (Movies/Videos) and MP3 (Music) without any problem.

My actual problem is that i can´t use all 3 of this Mediatypes. What do i have to do?

In my Webinterface i have a Section called "Media Server"

The selectable functions in this sections are:

Media Server: enable / disable and a Button "Restarting Media Server"

Media Folder: here i have a dropdownmenu with following folders (-> data, data/musik, data/video, data/photos, data/files, videos)

So you see, i tried to build on main folder and three different subfolders.

Automatic Update: Refresh / Remain
Refresh now / Initialize database before refresh

Refresh interval: 20 Minute
What do i have to do, that i can select every type of this three mediafiles on my PS3? Is there any Problem with my "Mainfolder" called data and the three subfolders Video/Musik/Photos?
Please, need some great help :(
