Hello - I recently realized that I had an old Buffalo Linkstation lying around and tried to connect it to my Mac. I can see it in NASNavigator2 on the Mac but I cannot connect to it as a shared drive (will NOT accept username/password). I reformatted the drive but it did not help. I tried to upgrade firmware using a Windows VM on my Mac but on the Windows side, NASNavigator cannot even see the drive.

Am I out of luck? Just trying to see if there is anything that I can do with this drive..

Thanks

I tried to upgrade firmware using a Windows VM on my Mac but on the Windows side, NASNavigator cannot even see the drive.
I was able to update the firmware from the VM - I did not realize that the VM got a virtual IP address in a completely separate subnet. Once I changed to "shared", it worked.

However, I am still not able to log into a share with security. If I disable security totally, I can attach to the share. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.
