LS-XHL cannot use mapped network drives on Windows 7 & Vista - XP works

Hi all,

I am using a LS-XHL with firmware 1.10 which works fine when I access the harddisk using my XP netbook. I am able to map network drives and save/read data via windows explorer. Also the Webadmin interface works fine on that netbook.

My "regular" notebooks use Windows Vista and Windows 7 and on both computers I am not able to access the webadmin (Internet Explorer and Mozilla just times out) and I am also not able to integrate the network disk into the explorer. I am able to map the network device without problems but as soon as I try to go through the directory structure it times out. Sometimes it works when asking the first hierarchy in the explorer but then I am not able to go further. The LS-XHL can be pinged without problems.

Any idea? I already specified a fix IP adress but without success.

Regards

me....

Well if you can access it from one I would have to assume it's a firewall/security issue.

Firewall is disabled on Windows 7 but still not working.

Any idea which security settings might cause the problem on VISTA or Win7?

You're right - I am really facing some security problem on the Windows 7 notebook. I figured out that the problem only occurs when I use the WLAN connection. Fixed line on the notebook works. I tried to compare the WLAN and FIX Line settings but could not find any problems. I delete the connection profile in the Lenovo access connection tool and regenerated this without success.

The XP is able to access the LS-XHL also via WLAN.

Any idea?

I have similar issues with Windows 7, never had any issues with Vista though.

My router sets a static ip address to all my devices, so in the past, I just left the LS set to DHCP and all was good.  But with 7 I was experiencing lag/time outs 50% or more when trying drill down folders.   So I changed the LS to static and just told it to use the same ip address the router would assign it anyways.

By doing this, I have eliminated about 80% of the lag/time outs I get.  But it does still happen.  I have not tested this on a wired connection.  I do notice that the problem occurs more often after a reboot/sleep.
