I am trying to figure out why the drive will install on my laptop.  I am running an XP SP3 machine and have the drive hooked up to my docking station.  The computer will not even recognize it being hooked up.  I tried to connect it directly to the computer and I get the XP install screen asking me for the location of the drivers and I cannot get to the Buffalo drive to get the drivers.  I downloaded the CD image from the download site but it says the drive is not connected.  What am I supposed to do?

Thanks!

David

Make sure the laptop is plugged into an outlet not just running off of the battery.  Also does the drive show up in disk management or the device manager

I apologize for the delay in response.  The laptop is plugged in and not running on battery.  It does NOT show up in Disk management.  When I plug it into the computer I get nothing, no beep saying it recognizes a device is plugged in. Nothing.

When the drive is plugged in I get a serious of beeps but nothing else.

Does the issue persist when using other computers?
