LinkStation live HS-DHGL gives 6 flashes of the error light!

Which looking at the manual is a HD problem, is there anything I can do?

It cannot be seen on the network and will not even boot up before giving the error message.

Firmware V 2.11

Windows 7

Worked fine for 3 days now nothing !!!!!!

I have some data on there which I could do without loosing, I have space to copy it  but I cannot seem to access it at all!

Quick update, managed to get it in em mode twice now,  updater can find it.

update proccess seems fine but it times out on the last bit and it asks me if I want to wait again.

Click yes and it seems just to go around in a loop, after a minute or two asks the same thing!

Then unfortunately it sounds like a bad HDD (you tried replacing the boot image).  The only option is to contact support for a replacement and/or contact a data recovery company.

The 6 flashes has gone, I can access the web control panel, BUT it says the disk is not formatted!

I cannot see any files!:smileymad:

Tried to do the boot image but nothing happed the drive just booted up normally!

 

Anymore advice really welcome!

I have data I need recovered so that is my last resort!

It is now flashing 4 times!, still cannot get it to do the boot thft thing!

It sounds like it's a bad HDD.  You can try booting it into EM mode and force flashing the firmware to try and replace the boot image.

 

Other than that the only option would be to RMA the drive (assuming the unit is uner warranty)
