Hello everyone and thanks in advance.

I have two TeraStations on two physcially seperate workgroups.  The networks are connected with CISCO Catalyst 3360 PoE 8 switches and CISCO 2811 routers.  All of the workstations are Dell Latitude D830 laptops.  All devices are are configured with manual IPs.  Windows firewall is disabled and there are no other firewalls on the networks.  All workstations use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.5.0i.  One of the workgroups uses a custom image of Windows XP Pro SP3 provided by our IA department.  The other workgroup uses the same image and a seperate custom image of WinXP Pro SP3 provided by our IA department.  I have full admin rights and can make documented changes to the builds as needed, but I cannot replace the builds.  One of the builds works perfectly with the TeraStation the other build can ping, web interface, and ftp with the TeraStation; but cannot map the TeraStation.  When I attempt to map the TeraStation with the problematic build I get "The specified network name is no longer available."  I am mapping it to \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\share, where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the manually set IP for the TeraStation.

I spoke to our IA and was told try the NTLM settings in gpedit, the builds did indeed have different settings but when I changed them both to "Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM and NTLM" and rebooted there was no change.

I had spoken to Buffalo's phone support before discovering the second build worked normally and was told that it was definitely a port blocking issue.  With no firewall I tried disabling McAfee and still had no success.  Since discovering the working build I have swapped out two workstations with the two builds on the same network drop, there was no change.

I have booted both builds into diagnostic startup, no change.

I have disabled Computer and User configuration settings in gpedit for both builds, rebooted, no change.

I have booted to safe mode with networking for both builds, no change.

I have disabled Computer and User configuration settings in gpedit and rebooted to safe mode with networking for both builds, no change.

With Windows Firewall disabled, booted to Safe Mode, and local policies disabled I am completely at a loss to where else in Windows to look for settings that could be causing this problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
