Can they be made to play nice and talk to each other?   I think that if I connect the nas directly to a networked PC it should work but I would prefer to have both the server and the nas connecter to the router and for WHS to be abel to access the nas as extra storage.  Can it be done?

Thanks           Alan

I would imagine that it is possible but will be difficult.  I would have both devices plugged into the router, also having a xfs (linux) and ntfs communicating and backing up to each other will probably what stops you.  With our own devices you can plug a usb hd in the back of the ls and use that to backup to or map to.
