As topic title says I have a external thats already locked and I just did a new format and I need to setup SLW so I can unlock my device.

Problem is itll say my device is secure lockware enabled but it wont detect it to unlock it.

JoshC

Run the software and after you unlock it then try to format the unit again.

I obviously cant even unlock the **bleep** thing so your post isnt helping.

Heres the issue as plain as I can explain it

I have a external Buffalo HD that has be SecureLockware locked

I had it setup before on my windows XP and all worked fine, I put all my files I needed onto it then I reformatted my computer to Windows 7

Now I have downloaded SLW and installed it then fallowed the directions to setup my HD so I can unlock it

Itll say my HD is securelockware enabled but it wont take me to the password input screen

Basically I just need to make it so SLW lets me type in my f*cking password for the this HD

I go through this everytime I deal with a new reformat but I forgot what I do to get it to work its been a while since I had to do this.

But this is def last time I buy from Buffalo again cause it shouldnt be this much of a hassle to install a program and plugin  a harddrive to get to a password input

JoshC

Ah sorry about that.  Are you running 64-bit Win7?  SLW isnt compatible with 64-bit.

InFaDeLiTy

Finally a solution =/

Ah so would downgrading to a 32bit Windows 7 be compatible and work?

If so guess I better work on getting that.

JoshC

Yes try that it should work for you.  Sorry about the confusion.

Well, 1 last question before I completely reformat and get a new windows is there any form of workaround or running the app in xp mode or something like that? Not sure if that makes sense but I dont want to have to reformat again.

Or could I even install SLW on another xp 32bit computer and remove the securelockware from it so its just a normal HD that works once plugged in?

If so how would I got about doing that?

It seems that if SLW doesnt work on 64bit it wouldnt install, cause it works fine other than the fact it wont unlock my device.

But if I can remove SLW using a different computer then id like to do that

JoshC

Or could I even install SLW on another xp 32bit computer and remove the securelockware from it so its just a normal HD that works once plugged in?  Thats an even better idea!

InFaDeLiTy

How do I remove SLW do I set it up like normal and then is there a option in SLW that says remove lock from device or something?

JoshC

Yea there should be an uninstaller there or you can just remove it off of the drive completly.

InFaDeLiTy

Alright ill try that, thanks for the replys hope it works id hate to downgrade
