Tera Station PRO TS-HTGL/R5 FW 1.22

1Tb, set up in RAID 10. 293.5Gb used (63%)

There was a power outage, and the UPS did not hold out. There have been a couple of such occurrences lately.

NAS seemed to come out fine, and shares were available.

After about 30 min, shares became unavailable.  First, only the "main" share was unavailble, with the "Info" share working well.

A disk check is said to be in progress, but from the web interface, Disk Management/Drive Properties only tells me that:

Currently a format or disk check is being carried out.

During this time the TeraStation settings cannot be changed.

Also the file share service will not be available.

No indication is given, as other posts suggested, as to percentage of progress or estimated time to completion.

Login screen to web interface has an Information line saying "System performance is decreasing now."

No other indication is given as to what the cause might be, and how soon it may be resolved.  I need to have an idea of how long it might take to get the system back online.  Also, how can I prevent or minimize risk in the future?

Forgot to mention, PC is using Windows Small Business Server 2003.  The main share contains data and log files for a SQL Server database, and now SQL Server service starts, but Enterprise Manager does not open.  Computer has plenty of RAM and Quad Core processor.

One more thing: originally NASNavi was accessible and not reporting any problems, but now the link comes out as invalid.  Web access seems ok, except that since the disk check is in progress, nothing other than the Drive Properties page is available, with the text above and information on the TeraStation name, version, IP Address (using fixed IP), date/time and space.

Thanks.

Sometime it can take around 24hrs.  Just let the unit sit and run its course.

It's been over 24 hours now, and still the same.  How can I know if it will eventually stop or not?  If so, how much longer? If not, what should I do?

It's past 30 hours now, and still no sign.  How I wish there was a) some sort of progress indicator, in order to have an idea of how long is left, and b) a way to safely cancel the disk check, because, if it comes back with recoverable errors, having access to partial or potentially damaged info is better than having no access to the files at all...

This has been out here for a while, did you have any luck?

I am currently in a similar situation.  Disk Check is still running, and I can't tell it to stop.

Thanks!
