hi, i have a hs-dhgl (hs-dh750gl) linkstation giga bit that is beeping and flashing the error led. when i power it on the power light flashes on and off repeatedly and the link/act light flashes as if it is transferring data but it never appears on my network. after about 5 minutes it seems to shut down flashing a red error light and beeping. the fan never seems to come on but it is in a cool location so not sure if it ever did. blades look very clean unlike most fans after extended use. have looked on the site and all the other references to beeping units don't mention the error light or talk about different symptoms. any ideas? thanks in advance, moylan

Are there any data inside the Buffalo LS Live?

I supposed there's no more warranty for this model.

Do not continue if warranty still valid.

Here's what you can do.

Unscrew and open up the casing of the LS live.

Unscrew and remove the hdd inside.

Connect it to a local computer.

Goto Disk Management under My Computer. (For Windows)

Delete all partitons in the hdd. Should be 4-5 partitons in that hdd alone.

Put back the hdd and screw back the casing.

Download TFTP for the LS Live.

Extract the files inside to a folder on your computer.

Connect to your LS Live thru lan and set an IP address of 192.168.11.1 on your computer.

Run TFTP boot.exe, a black window will appear.

Use a pen, press on red reset button on the back of the LS Live and hold it.

Press on the power button in the front while holding onto the reset button on the back.

You will hear a tone playing.

Let go of the reset button.

After awhile, you will see the black generating two lines of msg.

Run Nas Navigator 3 mins afer the 2 msgs appear.

See if it can detect the LS Live.

After detecting it, update your firmware on the LS Live.

Make sure the IP on your computer corresponds to the same range IP as shown on the LS Live, based on nasnavigator

You can close the black window after Nas navigator found your LS Live.
