Hi All!

Just got a LinkStation Po Duo and it seems ike a great device, except I can't seem to get it to allow "everyone" total access.  At least that's the way it seems.  When I map a drive, then right-click and go to properties|security, all the access boxes for "everyone" are blank.  If I try to add them from there, the settings disappear when I click apply.

Strangely, it seems like I can read & write the drive, but this is causing a problem because an application that needs to write to the drive apparantly checks to see if it has permission, and is determining that it does not, and is failing.

FWIW, I HAVE joined the drive to AD - but that doesn't seem to work as I'd expect.  I can't logon to the drive as any of the Domain users, and if I enable Access Restrictions, I can't figure out how to add any users/groups to the read/write (or other) categories.

Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding how this is supposed to work - so any help will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Mark

Permissions are still applied in the Linkstation GUI. When you got to "Shared Folders" and click on the share name, you see an option to Enable or Disable "Access Restrictions". The default is Disabled, which means anybody can get access without putting in credentials. When you Enable them, then you have two rows of three boxes. One for Users and one for Groups. You use the arrow tabs on the screen to move the names to the proper column of access.
