I have a ls421de with two 1 tb raided drives. I need to upgrade the drives for more storage.
Will this unit support 4 tb drives?
And what is the best procedure to update the drives?

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to move from a raid array of 1tb drives to an array of 4tb drives.

It's pretty easy to setup the drives on that model:
https://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/Initial-Setup-of-LinkStation-421DE-or-441DE-Diskless-Enclosure

but you'll need to copy the data back to the device once it's setup again.

To answer the question that was not yet answered, I think it will support 4TB drives, but not sure about anything larger. I have a 441 with 4x4TB in it. Since its the same series, I'm guessing the drive size support is likely the same.
