Hi - HD1 died, and replaced it with a new drive, but the Terastation TS-2.0 TGL/R5 reports under Disk Management / RAID Configuration / RAID Array 1 (there is only 1 RAID Array, and it is RAID 5) that the File Format is "Not Obtained". Any other ideas to get back up and running? This is for a Terastation Pro (TS-2.0 TGL/R5) running on version 1.04, with four 500 GB SATA drives (original configuration) Kind thanks, Michael

Try reformatting the drive to raw and put it back in the machine.  The device should allow you to format the drive then in disk management - raid setup you should be able to click on the yellow icon (hammer and screwdriver) next to the specific raid array.  In there you should be able to select the new drive and then restructure the raid array.

Hi Kameran - I used DBAN to zero fill the new drive, and placed it back into the TSP chassis, and allowed the RAID to restructure. Unfortunately, the file format is still "Not Obtained". Should I try to connect via the console and run xfs_repair?

What kind of HD is it?  Brand and specs please.

Did you replace all four HD?

Hi - only the dead hard drive was replaced.  The hard drive is a Seagate ST3500418AS - 500 GB SATA just like the three original SATA hard drives that remain in the chassis.  Of the three original drives, 1 is a Hitachi (HDT72505 - Disk 4) and Disks 2 and 3 are Western Digital (WD5000KS-00M).  All four show the same total capacity in the web interface (488,386,584 kbytes).  If there is a specific feature such as heads, cylinders, etc. I can make a simple table to summarize the four 500 GB drives that are in place...

Please let me know of any other thoughts you have on this - I appreciate your time and consideration.

Kind thanks,

Michael
