DriveStation Combo4 will not mount using FireWire 800

Hi,

I have a new 500 GB DriveStation Combo 4 and I'm trying to use it with a new MacBook Pro (10.6.1).  The drive is able to mount and appears to function without problems using the USB 2 connection, and I was able to mount it on an older PowerBook G4 using the FireWire 400 connection.  However, when I try the FireWire 800 connection (on the MacBook Pro) it won't mount.

I can feel that the disk is spinning, and the LED is on.  The System Profiler reports an "Unknown Device"  attached to the FireWire bus.  The Disk Utility, however, does not show any disk attached.

If anyone has any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Noah
