My Linkstation Pro Duo model LS-W2.OTGL/R1 shows it is set at Raid0.  I want to convert to Raid1 so I have mirrored files and it is pretty straight forward how to do that.  My concern is there appears to be some print server folders already setup on this thing.  How will I bring them back once I reformat the array?  I am unable to copy them and for all I know they are nothing but empty folders, but I have not found anything telling me what they are for.

Any help will be appreciated.

Those folders are for network printers.  You can still set this up after changing the RAID.  Just make sure that data is backed up.

Thanks for the information.  It is new so there is not date other than the manuals which I have backed up.

If you don't mind me adding to this thread, so far I have been unalbe to complete the software install using Vista 32 bit.  Is this normal.  I also am running Norton Internet Security 2009.

Which particular software?  Memeo, NASNAVI?

Appears to be the Link Navigatore Ver 2.02 and I was doing the basic setup.  I can see the drive through NAS Navigator and have reconfigured to Raid1.  It is just that basic install keeps failing and gives you no idea why.  Not sure I need it at all, but thought I should check.

Forgor to add I do have the Nas Navigator icon on the desktop.  But I thought it should have created another one as well.

The best way to use this device (in my opinion) is to locate the IP address with the NASNAVI.  As long as you have the IP address you can access nearly anything you need.

The first thing I show customers when setting up a NAS device is how to map a shared folder so they have a place to access/save data.  GO into your run command (windows key + R) and type in "\\IP" (IP being the IP of the NAS with no quotes).  This will bring up a window with all of your share folders.  Just right click on one and go to "map network drive".  After you assign it a drive letter it will show up in "my computer".

Sorry for the delay, had alot going on yesterday.  Everything is up an working and just wanted to say Thank You for the assistiance.

My goal here was to have my files accessable from each computer in my home, and that is working.  Now I would like to add one more level of security and backup the NAS files to an external hard drive.  The Memeo software will not recognize the NAS as the location of the files to be backed up so if you have any suggestions on a software product that will do the job.

Regardless, thanks again for your help.
