Can't update firmware on LS-WTGL/R1-V3

So I had a power failure yesterday which totally boned my LinkStation Pro Duo. First it would just start up into Emergency Mode, and didn't give any indication of an error. I was using Parallels to try and update firmware, which didn't work (I assumed there was something wrong with the bridged networking).

 

However, this morning I went to a windows box to try the same thing. Before I did anything, instead of booting into EM it gave E06 instead. The TFTP procedure gets it to boot into EM. But I'm still getting this error when I try to update the firmware:

"Couldn't confirm a response from LS-WTGL-EMB08...."

 

Also, interestingly, even though it serves the blocks to the LS with an IP of 192.168.11.150 which is the expected behavior, by the time it boots into EM and I run the Updater, it finds the LS with an ip in the 169.254.x.x range (the precise address changes with every boot) and subnet of 255.255.0.0. I've tried running the updater with the computer's IP set to 192.168.11.1, which results in the error described above, and also setting it to the same 169.254.x.x range, in which case the updater can no longer even find the LS.

 

My firewall is disabled and I've received the same message when attempting this in safe mode with networking. Am I missing anything?

If you connect the unit back up to the router/switch does it get the proper IP address?  The TFTP is only supposed to boot the unit into EM mode.
