TeraStation SubFolder Permissions are Custom?

Have a TeraStation Pro II.  There are some of the subdirectories that are directly under the main share that the permissions are messed up.  The User is listed as Unknown and the access is Custom.  I have no idea how this happened and I can't figure out how to fix it.  Tried Windows and Mac.  Tried line command.  The directories that are fine are rwxrwxrwx, the inaccessible directories are rw-rw-rw-.  Suggestions would be appreciated.  Even if someone could tell me how this could have happened so I can prevent it in the future.

   Permissions can only be set on the root directory and should only be done through the TS interface, if you are using ACL's on the server or something like that you will run into issues. Technically you cannot set access restrictions on sub folders, they inherit them from the root.

It's a stand alone unit.  It should be inheriting permissions from the root share folder, but it is not.  The other 3 TeraStations we have work as expected.  I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix the current problem or what could have caused it so I can prevent it in the future.

 

I only deployed the unit.  It is at a remote location from my office.  I was not involved in the transfer of data to it.  I was only contacted once they realized that some of the directories were inaccessible.   I get the felling that there is some detail that they are failing to mention to me.
