I just installed a Buffalo Mini LS-WS500GL/R1.  The firmware was (nominally) v. 1.06-015.

There were two issues on installation that I thought tech support might want to know about.

First, I the HTTP GUI did not function properly in either Firefox 3.05 or in IE8.  The issue was exactly the same as this thread: http://forums.buffalotech.com/buffalo/board/message?board.id=SolvedStorageThreads&message.id=2043&query.id=89647#M2043">http://forums.buffalotech.com/buffalo/board/message?board.id=SolvedStorageThreads&message.id=2043&query.id=89647#M2043

except that I never saw any Japanese.

Forcing a firmware update solved the problem for IE8, but not Firefox.  The update did not change the firmware version one bit.  So it appears that my Mini shipped with corrupted firmware.  :(

Second, the drive was advertised as having RAID1 as default.  In fact, it came with RAID0 as the default.  Changing it over was not a problem, but I'm glad I discovered the issue before writing any data...

Thanks.

So what have you tried to do to solve this problem?  Everything in the thread I take it?

Where are you seeing the firmware version?  It should have changed the version unless you already were up to date.

Also if one of those browsers work then the other one should barring any configurations that may have been changed.

We apologize that the unit came with corrupted firmware.  It doesn't happen often but it should be a relatively easy fix.

I have the same problem of missing left menu again.

It worked some month ago from one workstation, letting me able to modify the share cofiguration, but now, it do not work from any workstation on our network. Probably because they were all updated to IE8 and oher identical MS patches.

Could it be that LinkStation mini's menu do not like french Windows interface ?

How can we configure the device now ?

I get the following error:
