Trying to join Active Directory Domain

I have a TeraStation model HD-H1.0GTL/R5 which I am trying to get to join an Active Directory Doamin on a Small Business Server 2003.  The first time I tried this (a few months ago) the process worked OK.  Then about a week ago, Domain Users could no longer access the TeraStation.  When I looked at the User Management page on the TeraStation, the Domain User List shows only a single entry with

Domain User List

  User Name        User Description

    0xc0000022       ENDOGRINSDomain User

where ENDOGRINS is the name of the domain I am trying to join.  I had been running Firmware 1.12, but yesterday updated to Firmware 2.16 in hopes that would help.  No difference!

The TeraStation is named "fileserv" and appears as a Computer in the Active Directory listing.  I have tried removing fileserv from Active Directory, changing the TeraStation to "Wrokgroup Mode", rebooting the TeraStation and then adding it back to the Active Directory on the SBS2003 Server.  Although the TeraStation appears to go through the process of trying to join the domain, I never get a request to provide the credentials of a Domain Administrator to allow the join.  The computer "fileserv" does not appear in the list of active directory computers.

How do I get the TeraStation back to being a domain member?

LandyAtkinson,

After updating the firmware please log into the web admin and go to maintenance, then initialization and select restore to factory defaults. This will not delete your data but will clear and lingering firmware problems from the last firmware version. Once you do this please try these steps:

1. Set your Terastations host name

2. Set a static IP address

3. Make sure the date, time and time zone are within 5 minutes of your domain controller

4. Set up active directory

5. If not using a wins server, try putting the domain controllers IP address into this field.

If you're still having problems after doing this please try and create a computer on the domain with the same host name as the Terastation and have pre windows 2000 checked.

Hope this helps.
