Hi

I'm new to buffalo products and NAS, I purcased a LS-Quad 1Tb, now the questions:

1. If I replace drives one by one recostructing the array, the array will not increases in capacity, there's really no way to grow the Raid without loosing data?

2. There is a way to create a 3 disks Raid5 and leave the 4rt disk as a stand alone drive?

teorically a 3 drive Raid5 is possible but I cannot create it trough the buffalo interface.

The mediacenter software as fas as I know is twonky media server4.4.8, there's a way to access to the clients.db file of twonky? The purpouse is to add a new device to the DB couse it seems to be the only way to solve issues with Samsung TVs.

Thankyou and sorry for my bad English

1. All Buffalo replacements will be the same size. And Buffalo does not give warranty if you use your own replacement drives. If it does not matter to you... there is a way

2.No

try [IP of LS Quad]:9050

Thank you

There's  a guide or someting that explains ho to do that? not the drive substitution, but the array growt without loosing the data. I know it's risky, but it'could be useful to know.

About port :9050, I know it but from there I can only select wich entry of the clients.db use for a specified client, what I was searching for was a way to edit the clients.db file to add a new entry

1.It does not work without data loss. You need to store everything somwhere else before.

A guide line is probably not in common with Buffalo rules, so will be deleted if published here. The same applies for the editing of files in the firmware. Of course there is always a way but from Buffalo site the fw is "closed" and you void the warranty if you touch it. (and it is dangerous indeed if you don't know much about linux command line)
