Tera Station III Pro Direct Copy Folder Bug

Hello!

I am wondering if I have found a bug in the Terastation Pro III ( TS-X6.0TL/R5) v1.05 firmware. I connected a Lacie external USB hard drive to the TS and triggered a Direct Copy by pushing the Function button. The copy was about 356,292 files containing 450 gigabytes in about 1200 folders. For some reason, the copy did not finish all the way, leaving about 100 GB of data uncopied.  Also, in those directories which were copied, any folders which were empty were not copied. Since they were part of the data structure of the archived data, this was not good (and unfortunately there were many of them making it tedious to fix by hand)!  I should note that the files/directories which did get copied were copied correctly.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks,

Toby

PS: Is there a way to make enhancement requests for the product's firmware?  It's be nice to have the LCD display "Direct Copying USB..." or something when it is copying and say "USB Copy Done" when it is finished. In my case, the function light was still flashing eventhough it wasn't copying anymore ( the hard drive's LED was no longer flashing), although this may be related to the incomplete copy error.

Need to format the usb hard drive to xfs from the ts3, to backup to it.

Actually, I'm not backing up to the external USB drive.  I am copying data from it to the TeraStation III.

Thanks,

Toby
