LS-CHL bittorrent port forwarding- does it work?

I set my BT client to use some random port, like 55345, and I noticed in my uPnP list on my router, the Linkstation simply forwards external ports 6881-6889 to internal port 55345.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of port forwarding? My ISP speed-limits all traffic on ports 6881-6899. I don't want to use those ports at all.
