HD-CELU2 - doesn't retain settings

Hi all

 

Been playing with the settings on my Drivestation 2 share/HD-CELU2/Flexnet 500Gb model (f/w version 1.4.7) and it appears that the unit does not retain the settings when it is powered off and back on.

 

As examples (making the settings via the web interface):

 

i) if I change the hostname to "drivestation" and apply the setting, the message box "Settings have been successfully saved" appears and the hostname looks to be changed... once the unit is powered off and back on, the hostname changes back to HD-CELU2-xxxx

 

ii) if I set the date/time to use an NTP server and apply the settings, the message box "Settings have been successfully saved" appears and the NTP details look to be changed - the unit will pick up the correct date/time from the NTP server... however, once the unit is powered off and back on, the NTP details are blank and the unit has the date/time set as GMT+8

 

iii) Enabling shared folder security and admin password appears to work until the unit is powered off and back on, when the details have disappeared and shared folder security is disabled...

 

Not to mention that the unit does not retain the last "access mode" it was set to either - it is usually in LAN mode, but when powered back on the setting goes to USB.

 

Surely the device should retain the settings when powered off?

Any advice please?

No need to worry about a response to this question - have decided to return the unit for a refund.
