I was able to setup webaccess and use the browser from remote locations for my Linkstation 220.
I'm Now trying to map it as a drive to my windows machine at a remote location. I was able to use FTP, but it only allows to see the file names in windows explorer (no thumbnails) and when you click on something it opens up a browser to download the file instead of directly opening.

What is the best way to access a remote NAS as a mapped regular network folder on Windows?

Texturtle

The only way to do this is with the use of a VPN. In order to map the drive you need to connect to the NAS using the SMB file sharing protocol which is not designed to be routed in this way.
