I have the LinkStation Pro Duo LS-W1.0TGL/R1.  Recently I upgraded the 2x 500Gb drives to 2x 1Tb drives.  Since doing so, the disk activity lights blink constantly as if it's either copying data or synchronizing the disks, even when my computers are off (in fact, the network cable is unplugged).

I don't remember this activity light being so active when the 2x 500gb drives were in there.  I did update the firmware.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Buffalo does not support this and it does VOID warranty!

The unit could be doing a RAID check but you wouldn't be able to access it and transfer data if that is the case (and you would see a yellow "!" on the front of the unit).

Try force updating FW and/or Initialize the unit through the web interface.
