How do you know when your backup is done running?

Followed the procedure and backed up linkstation LS421 with 2 - 2TB drives to a WD Mybook 4TB ext drive using the USB ports.
Buffalo software says 'Running'.
The NAS Navigator 2 windows says
Drive (RAID1) 1772.5 GB/1847.5 GB (95.9%)
USB 763.2 GB/2031.9 GB (37.6%)

Don't know if the process is stuck, crashed, really is still running? Has been running for about 50 hours now doing a complete backup.

Any thoughts on how it should take??  or if I have a problem?

Thanks
