DriveStation will not accept LAN connection

I understand that a windows update may have disabled the LAN access.  But I do find it strange that I can not access the settings page of the DriveStation.  Unless those settings only pertain to LAN and that when the DS is used over USB, it is simply an additional hard drive with no settings.  But that does not make intuitive sense to me.
