I am trying to install a newer firmware on LinkStation hoping that it will solve this problem (http://forums.buffalotech.com/buffalo/board/message?board.id=0101&thread.id=11791).

I downloaded the installer for windows as well as NAS navigator, but it cannot find the LS on network. I am able to access the control panel via a firefox in XP.

Is there anything I need to do before I can even install the software on Windows XP? I am very new to windows...

Thank you again in advance.

Warmly,

Tsuyoshi

I would strongly suggest updating Firmware from a Host Windows machine.

I have seen a lot of network issues between host and guest OS with programs like Boot Camp or Parallels (haven't seen enough with VMware Fusion), especially in OSX 10.5.

Is there a reason you are updating FW? (Remember, don't fix it if its not broke http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/util/emoticonspopuppage" class="emoticon-link" target=_blank>http://forums.buffalotech.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt=":smileywink:" title="Smiley Wink" />)
