Unable to upgrade firmware build 30355a on WZR-600DHP

My router is currently configured as follows:
Router Name: DD-WRT
Router Model: WZR-600DHP
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r30355 std (09/13/16)
Kernel Version: Linux 3.10.102 #27942 Tue Sep 13 15:32:20 CEST 2016 mips

I tried to upgrade the latest version released on 2017-07-24    Pro v3.0 30355a DD-WRT Firmware for the WZR-600DHP. However, I was NOT able to upgrade. After reboot, I am still on the old version.

I have the same/similar issue:

Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/22/14) std

I apply the wzr600dhp-pro-v3.0-r30355a firmware update, says its done and rebooting and goes right back to displaying the DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/22/14) std firmware version

I too have a WZR-600DHP and the upgrade failed.

I am currently at DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (11/04/12) std - build 20180
I want the security fixes in the latest.
but as soon as I initiate the Upgrade is reports Upgrade Failed.
How do we get these security updates ????

UPDATE
I was successful by modifying the file name. I am now running the 30356 update!
