How to open the external closure of HD-LC4.0U3 (4tb) so I can retrieve the drive

How can I open this to retrieve the drive?

After very light usage 22 months after purchasing it the drive is not being detected by windows explorer.  The USB will be detected and then undetected over and over again.  When it's detected the drive shows up in device manager but not in windows explorer or disk management.  I would like to retrieve the drive itself and attempt to install as an internal to determine if the issue is with the enclosure itself.

I've searched far and wide and have found zero info about this enclosure (even though they've been selling it for 2+ years) on the net.   I've found info about past Buffalo enclosures but they differ greatly from this one.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
