How to set RAID 1 for 8 disks in TS5800D?

I heard that RAID 1 is used for two disks only. So what if I have 8 disks? Should I use 2 disks for each array? So there will be 4 array with RAID 1? Or directly use the 8 disks in an array for RAID 1?
I am not sure to do any of this so I stop the configuration for a while. I hope I can get some answers from here. Thank you.

Any particular reason why you want to use RAID1? As you say, you can only use 2 disks for this so you would need to setup 4 separate RAID arrays.

Why not use RAID5 (single disk redundancy over all 8 disks) or RAID6? (dual disk redundancy over 8 disks).

Actually, I am setting this system for a network in my lab. My lab head wanted to set it up for RAID 1. He wanted to make them mirrored to the others. So I am wondering how to do that with those 8 disks. So I ask, how to set the RAID 1 over 8 disks? Because all the tutorial on youtube are using only two disks. What if there are 8 disks? Should it be 4 arrays or could be 8 disks directly? Sorry for my bad English.

You can't setup one volume for RAID1 over 8 disks. Your manager doesn't know what he is talking about.

Perhaps he was thinking RAID 10. With 8 drives that will create 4 RAID 1 mirrors with a RAID 0 set striped across them.

What if just RAID 1 for each 2 disks? So there will be 4 RAID 1, without RAID 0. Could it be like that?

Yes, you can do that.
