I am looking at replacing an older 323 NAS with a Buffalo but I do NOT use RAID.

1) Does the Buffalo LinkStation™ 220 2TB offer the capability to have a Vol 1 and Vol 2 each individually accessable?

2) Are the HDs formatted in Windows proprietary NTFS format so that if I have a failure I can take the drive out and insert into my EZ-Swap on a Win 10 desktop?

Not sure if the 220 can do JBOD. Drives aren't formatted to NTFS file format.

Thanks.  If I  understand JBOD correctly I am not spanning them.  Each vol is labeled, used and accessed differently.

I will search for a Windows based NAS i.e. Buffalo TeraStation™ Windows Storage Server
