I have two Linkstation 220s.   I accidentally (after cleaning the cases) put the drives in the wrong box (I think).  Now neither is functional.  The station and drives are seen by the included NAS application (I installed the lasted version), BUT the "drive(s)" is stated as "UNFORMATTED'.  If I enter Settings, the web application is null.  That is, there is no interface and I cannot do anything, e.g. check the raid.  I cannot communicate at all with the device.  The box blinks error 14.

I reinitialized and I reinstalled firmware with no effect.  I have not yet reformatted the drives (independent of the box), because the data is all still there, and apparently another user tried this to no avail.  WHAT IS GOING ON?  The partitions are still there.  The problem seems to be with the box, not the drives.  Any suggestions?  I just want to get the boxes functional...start from scratch, even if I cannot preserve the data.

If the data is not needed, do a thorough cleaning with formatting - "restore to factory default settings". Initialize LinkStation/Erase

"I reinitialized and I reinstalled firmware with no effect. "   I cannot access the web interface of the NASNavigator so I cannot use the usual means suggested.  I do have a Linux box.  That's how I know the partitions are intact.  The problem seems to be that the box cannot access its drives.

Is there a command line interface for the NAS software?  I tried several different browsers but none can "see" the box.

Also, I cannot even change the IP address.  I get the error "No reply from drive."

First red LED.  One dash then 4 dots.  Web page accesses box, but there is no working interface -- no error page, all grey background, no widgets (nothing to click on or interact with.)  I downloaded the new NASNavigator but of course this is not the problem.

It from browser cache. You do not have access to NAS.

If the information is not important then raze partitions on disk and try.

I think you need to restore a NAS through TFTP boot image. It can get customer support http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/contact-us/

Thank you for your help, MiG.   You should contact Buffalo support for a job.... They really need better customer support.  I have never in my life purchased anything "Made in Japan" that I was disappointed with until now.  I am ashamed.    :'(
