Linkstation Quad / Terastation Live file copying / transfer

   I understand from a previous thread that about 5-7 minutes to upload 1gig of data to the nas is about standard. I am in the process of copying about 1tb of movies and pictures from a terastation live (HS-DH2.0TG1/R5) to a Linkstation Quad (LS-Q4.0TL/R5 version 1.05), both running RAID5. I simply used my pc with a window from each nas open, found the files I wanted copied in terastation and dragged them to the open window for the LS. So far, after exactly 12hrs of copying, 150.4gb has been copyied to the LS. Which seems to confirm the 5-7 minutes upload. At this rate it will take about 3-4 days to copy 1tb of data. My network is 1gig. My question is, does this sound right? Does copying from a pc like this slow the process down? Is there a quicker/easier way to do this? Thanks,

Make sure both your Buffalo units have been set to Jumbo frame.

 

How to set? Goto web console, goto Netwro then goto Ethernet Frame Size Properties. Change to 9694 bytes.

 

Find out from your computer manufacturer how to set your computer's internet gigabit network card to jumbo frame.

 

It took me just 1hr to copy 190gb of data. It should be like this.

 

Just copied 300gb yesterday at 2hrs+.

There must be something wrong. In 12hrs it has only transfered 200gb.

Both the nas are set for jumbo frame as well as my computer. I even have disabled antivirus during the transfer.

Any other suggestions?
