Password reset on LS-WX2

I am trying to reset the password on my LS-WX2.OTL/R1. I turned off power, then turned it back on while holding the function button. The light started flashing blue, when I pushed the function button again, it never turned amber, just kept flashing blue for a half hour until I shut the power switch off again.

Any Ideas?

If you reboot it and don't press the function button does the unit fully power up? Can you access the data? Was it in emergency mode at any stage?

Yes, we powered it down and restarted without pressing the Function button, and it seems to start normally. The status page shows it in EM mode now, and reports that it need a firmware update, that's why I needed the password reset in the first place.

If you update the firmware then it will not (or at least it should not) ask you for a password?

But (as I recall) it wouldn't let me into the control panel to initiate the firmware update without the user name and password.

You download the firmware via the buffalo website and run it from a PC. It is normal not to have GUI access when it is in this state

Where can I find instructions on firmware upgrading?

Download the firmware from the buffalo website, unzip it on your PC, disable security software on the PC, run the .exe.
