Hi,

I'm not a very tech savvy person and really need some help setting up my drive. I've already spent a lot of time trying to set it up without any positive results. I have an actiontec v1000h router that was provided by my ISP. I hooked the drive with the enclosed ethernet cable and I'm able to access the drive locally but not remotely. I followed the guidelines that are available at this website but without any luck. I tried port forwarding but obviously I'm doing something wrong because I'm not getting anywhere. I'm using the default gateway IP address and have also tried using the NAS drive IP addess. I've also used 9000 and 49868 ports. Any ideas, suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

From a remote location you need to use the external IP address of your router, the address assigned by the ISP. It won't be anything that starts with 192.168.
