4TB DriveStation Quattro RAID External Hard Drive with Turbo USB

I recently purchased a DriveStation Quattro.  I am using Windows XP.  I understand that there is the 2TB limit in XP so that is the reason that I see the partition split into two drives (let's say they're G: and H:).  Does this in anyway effect the RAID 5 functionality?

 

I guess the question is, if one of the physical hard drives crashes, will I still be able to access the information on either G: or H:?  When I replace the crashed drive, will the G: and H: drives be rebuilt properly?

   You should not access any data on there until the drive is replaced. It can cause inconsistencies in the raid array and make it difficult to rebuild. Yes you can replace the drive and get everything rebuilt normally if that does happen. You may be able to access the data if one fails but I would not recommend it.
