Linkstation Pro Duo Hard Disk swap problems!

Hi all, I've had my Linkstation Pro Duo for a while now (the 4tb version with 2x Seagate 7200rpm SATA drives installed) but disk 2 has been having problems for some time.  I've just managed to get 2x 4tb Seagate NAS drives (ST4000VN000) to replace the old ones but cannot for the life of me get them installed and working.

I have tried the TPFT method, installing one drive at a time, mirroring the drives etc and nothing I do can make them work.   The drives are fine as I have tried them in my desktop PC but this NAS is driving me insane and I'm a stones throw away from smashing it up the wall!!!  I have an old Netgear Stora that will allow me to swap drives without ANY problems but it won't support these new drives and is a slower than the Linkstation.

Does anyone have any ideas that may help before I lose it completely and end up with a massive bill?  I can't believe that Buffalo thought it would be a good idea to store the NAS OS on the drives installed in it given taht most NAS's are made to have drives swapped around!

Anyway, please can someone help?  Thanks in advance
