I have a LS-CH500L that I have had for a long time and have used it on and off. I was going to throw it out, 500GB is small and thought about upgraded it.
Basic questions here.
I know how to take the drive out already.
If I put in a new drive that is formatted will it just work, or do I have to run a firmware upgrade?
Not sure if the firmware is software on the drive, or on a chip within the storage unit.
I flashed the firmware to 1.12 and running NAV 2.82 on Windows 10.

The OS is on the drive. There really isn't a way to upgrade that unit. :(
**A single copy of data, even on a RAID array, is NOT a backup! Hard drive failure is not a question of IF, but WHEN! Don't take my word for it, take Google's!**
