Hi,

I have my iTunes Music & Library stored on my LinkStation Live LS-CHL, but when I start up Vista & immediately run iTunes it cannot find the Library & Music.

But, if I first acces the LinkStation share through the Vista Explorer and then open iTunes, everything runs fine.

So it seems that the LinkStation must be "mounted" first in order for iTunes to see it.

Is there a way to do this automatically?

Thanks!

Randy

You can map the drive in "Computer" => Map network drive => Assign a drive letter => Folder: \\IP_Address_Of_Nas\Share => OK. Make sure you tick Automatically connect at logon.

This should solve your issue.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Hi Davo,

Thanks for your reply. But I've already done this (including ticking the Automatically connect at logon).

So when I start Vista, the share automatically appears in Windows Explorer, but in order for iTunes to "see" or use the mapped drive, I have to first manually click on the L-drive in Windows Explorer... Strange, huh?

This unfortunately would involve recommendations on altering your OS. Which we are not permitted to do according to Microsoft. I know it seems like a cop out but it is the truth since this is an issue between iTunes and Vista. You could try contacting Apple about their iTunes software or search on the web to automatically "mount" the volume when you startup Vista.

Hi - I am also having problems with iTunes and Vista.  I have a LS Quad with my iTunes files and library in a shared folder on the LS.  All of my XP PC's (including a laptop accessing via wireless) access and modify the iTunes library without any problem.  I have a Vista laptop that appears to work fine when accessing iTunes, modifying the library and playlists, etc.  When I close iTunes, it says "Saving Library" and appears to end normally.

However, when iTunes is closing from the Vista laptop, it creates a bunch of iT#.tmp files and does not modify the .itl (library) file - so none of the changes are saved.

Any suggestions?
