(I hope that this is the proper place to post this, & that it's not a FAQ, but a search didn't turn up anything.)

I recently moved to a "new" computer.  (My approach is pretty trailing-edge; this is a refurbished Win7 box, moving from XP.)  I needed some files from a backup of the old system, which was made using Buffalo's backup utility on a HD-PCFU3 disk.  If I try to browse the directory tree, under BUData, I get access denied errors, & I can't see anything there.  That is, I can see the directory name of the backup set, but when I try to browse down I see no files & get an access denied error.

I'm running as administrator.  I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything like encrypting the backup.  I've tried checking access rights, to no avail.

As far as I can see, the disk itself is fine.  I've installed the backup utility on this computer, & been able to create a new backup set under BUData, & I can browse it just fine.

I suspect that this is something simple, but I'm stumped.  Sigh.

Thanks for any help.
