I have a Linkstation Mini LS-WSXLC5C Firmware version: 1.63 (DTCP-IP:1.60-20120615)
This has 2 x WD WD5000BEVT-00A0R (500GB) disks, and one has failed in RAID 1.

For expediency, I have found another WD5000BEVT and am slotting it in for now, but would like to fit a pair of WD 'Red' 1TB disks.
Will my Mini handle these?
I read elsewhere you can fit a new 1TB disk, let the RAID 1 mirror the former 500GB disk to it, then take out the remaining 500GB disk, and fit the 2nd 1TB disk. Feedback?

As an aside, the nightly status emails say
[DISK error status]
DISK1   0
DISK2   0
which seems unhelpful, given one is in error-status.

I'm sure enough that some LSWX's can take >= 1GB; before I spend on a WD Red drive though, I wanted to be reasonably sure that my LSWX is not too old to take > 500GB disks?

(As above, mine is LS-WSXLC5C Firmware version: 1.63 (DTCP-IP:1.60-20120615) ca 3 years old)

Good. so.."you can fit a new 1TB disk, let the RAID 1 mirror the former 500GB disk to it, then take out the remaining 500GB disk, and fit the 2nd 1TB disk."?
That means 2 x RAID rebuilds :<(
