Since upgrading to 1.80 my device stops working at least once every day. The IP is not pingable, GUI and shares not accessible.
The On/Off switch on the back of the NAS it's not doing anything. Only a power cycle restores full operation.

Is this a known issue?

Azasel

I have exactly the same issue on a LS421DE with the firmware 1.80 !

I've submitted a support ticket and they've told me to reinitialize the device. I did that, now I'm waiting to see if it happens again or not.
I'll report back here, as well to Buffalo, in a few days.

as soon as I wrote the previous message I've checked my shares. Guess what, connectivity lost.

Was helping someone else on this.

If you want you can row back the firmware like I stated there. See if it helps.
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people

loplo

Thanks joma90 for your input. For the moment I'd like to stress Buffalo with this issues, and I hope they'll fix it.
If they won't come with a solution within days, I'll downgrade.

joma90

Most likely they will if its effecting multiple users all of a sudden. There just needs to be enough users to report it.

I have the same situation :(

Guys,
I've been in contact with Buffalo, tested different ways to install the firmware but the issue is still there.
Please create an account here - http://www.buffalo-technology.com/en/support/support-contact/ - and report the same problem. I don't know how often are they checking the forums, and as joma90 stated, the more users are going to report the issue the higher the chances to be fixed sooner.

Azasel

I'm already in contact with the french support, on the last mail they ask me to re-install the latest firmware, but it didn't solve the problem.
I've send us the link to this topic to show them I'm not the only one...
I guess the last firmware have some bugs...

loplo

Well this is pity.
Customer relations flagged my case as a faulty device and the directing me to RMA. I don't want to pay shipping costs to Ireland or whatever other country.
I'm going to downgrade and use the older firmware until the new one is going to be fixed.

@Azasel, good luck with your French support contact.

Azasel

So finally the support told me to send back the device, and I get a new one as it is under warranty.

But before I have downgrade the firmware to the version 1.34, and now it looks to work normaly, I will see the next days and inform you if it realy solved the problems.

loplo

I have more than 24hrs with 1.34 and it's running without problems. I won't send my device back.

Azasel

I have now 3/4 days the firmware 1.34 and it's running well, so I will not send back the device, it's only a problem of the firmware 1.80

wafer

Both v1.80 & v1.81 have this issue on my LS-421DE!

I'll roll back to v1.34 to verify...!

loplo

With 1.81 I'm experiencing random reboots, I'll revert to 1.34, again.
