Can I put my drives in a different NAS?

My NAS goes into EM Mode quite frequently, and it's getting to become a trial to get the firmware reflashed every few weeks. Is it possible to just move the drives into something else while I try to sort out the firmware?

As I understand it part of the OS is on the drives as well as the firmware, I suppose that shouldn't matter as it would just be another partition on the drive(s) they are mirrors anyway so both are identical data.
