LS-WXL: Is it a read or a write error?

My NAS (in Stripe mode) is currently backing up on another Linkstation. During the backup the READING NAS sent me the following error:

(sda) READ sector:24113202 count:7
Disk writing error
Continuous backup is recommended.

The sectors vary, each sector is reported twice. In total I received 10 error mails with 5 defective sectors.
What I do not understand: it says READ sector, but then it says Disk WRITING error. What does that mean?

If it is a writing error, the data is still correctly read and copied to the backup device. If it is a reading error, I guess that the backup is also corrupted.

And do I probably have more defective sectors, but the NAS stops reporting after 10?

Does anyone know details about this?

Thanks a lot!

Did you find a solution to this problem? I am having the same problem.

It seemed to be also a read error. I did a backup with backup log enabled. There I could find the affected files. When I tried to read these files manually (they were video data), I got an error. So that proved that they were not readable anymore.

OT: Is it really necessary to have three verification questions? That is annoying.
