For some reason I cannot connect to Amazon S3. I keep getting "Wrong Amazon S3 bucket name, access key ID, or secret access key". I've watched the video and made sure the secret key contained characters it was supposed to. Tier 1 simply tells me to keep regenerating keys until one works. I've done this for 3 days and none work. I don't really think it's getting out to the S3 services even though I've forwarded port 9000 and it's detected using canyouseeme.org. Separately, but I think there's a connection, I was only able to create and buffaloNAS.com id one time for remote access. Ever since then I get an error asking me to check my DNS settings..? I think the TerraStation has an issue with connecting to these services.

I have another server sitting next to the TerraSTation (Hp MediaSmart SErver) that has no problems connecting to S3 using whatever secret key I generate. Same network, same router, same IP connection. I can use an S3 browser and connect to S3 same everyting as above. Really don't know where to go from here. Buffalo Tier 2 hasn't called back and I've been asking for help for 3 days now...

any help would be appreciated.

Ok. Finally talked to tier 2 and the solution to this was easy. First note that I couldn't assign a new name to remote access, I kept getting "Cannot find DNS services" (paraphrased) when trying to activate remote acess. Under networking I had to add a DNS address, in this case simply the ip address of the default gateway (192.168.1.1). The TerraStation operating system now knows to use the DNS servers provided by my ISP. So:

   1) Under Networking - IP ADDRESS - DNS1 needs your default gateway ip address
   2) backup needs to be checked or activated on the share intended for synchronization
   3) Web Access cannot be activated
   4) I want to say there might be a shared folder name length restriction but haven't been able to confirm this
