Buffalo Linkstation LS-CH1.0TL very slow speed

Hi Guys,

i have the LS-CH1.0TL at home. Connected to a Fritzbox 7390 with a Gigabit Swith. The transfer speeds are terrible. Got only 3-4 MB/s writing and 4-5 MB/s reading speed.
I already updated the firmware to 1.60. Changed the ethernet cable. Changing frame size to jumbo 9k and back. What can i do right now?

I have a Buffalo 220D connected using wireless and get the same speeds. Its because Buffalo use Samba 2 file transfers and the technology is lossy. One thing I did notice was speed improved when I moved the laptop closer to the router but it rarely gets to 5 MB/s.

I installed free Ultracopier which allows me to batch files for transfer so I just leave it to get on with things. Sorry but this is a feature of their products and one that everyone complains about but little if anything can be done about it.

Sorry, but i DONT USED Wifi, i use a cable connection to the nas. So the transfer speeds must be better

So fyi...... if you complain about slow xfer speeds on wireless.. stop using a 54Mbps connection -_- and get a better wireless card or maybe your router is to old and is using a 54Mbps connection.

If you set up a static ip on your computer and on the Linkstation and then directly connect to 2 together is your speed still 4-5? Also enabling the jumbo frames the on the linkstation and not the computer would make the speed worse. You can also check the nic on the linkstation and see what lights are on. Should be a orange for gigabit and green for activity.
