While port scanning our network at work I noticed that UDP port 3127 was open on our Terastation TS-HTGL/R5 F/W 1.22 network drive and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into why that port is open. port 3127 is commonly used for w32.mydoom trojan and i know the terastation has a *nix operating system, just curious.

Thanks for any reply's in advance.

Caleb

The terastation does have a unix os built in to it.

I just checked a bunch of our units, and none of them have that port open on TCP or UDP. I have no idea why it would be on yours. Is it possible you configured one of the services to use a non-standard port?

As well, since it is a *nix based OS, there's no way it could be infected with a windows worm. I wouldn't be concerned about that.
