Linkstation 220 Duo Raid Problems

I recently purchased the Linkstation 220 Duo and two identical WD Red Nas 2 TB drives.

Independently, the drives work just fine.  However, when I Raid them, the raid eventually fails.  Here are few problems:  I created a Raid 1 Array.  It immediately began to resync, estimated about 30 hours to complete.  The drive appeared usable, so I setup some folders and put some files on it.  I came back the next day and noticed that somewhere in the middle of the night, the NAS box froze.  I had to pull the power plug to reset it.  When it came back on, it was usable, but ran in Degraded Mode.

I deleted the Array, reformatted the drives and started over.  This time, I unchecked the resync option and created the array.  It worked fine.  I loaded things onto it.  Again, somewhere in the middle of the night, the NAS froze and I had to pull the plug to reset it, the on/off switch was unresponsive.  It came back usable again, but back to degraded mode.

I deleted the array, reformatted the drives, updated the firmware to 1.61, re initilized the NAS, and finally recreated RAID 1 again without resync.  A drive failed 10 minutes later and it began to rebuild the array.

I have now tried recreating RAID 1 for like the 5th time.  This time I am letting it resync for the 30 hours and am not using the Raid at all until it's finished resyncing.  Hopefully, it doesn't freeze in the middle of the night.

Both drives are brand new and seem just fine.  Not in raid mode, they work fine.  It's when I raid that I keep getting into trouble.

Okay, resync failed about 10 minutes in.  We, I assume it failed as the drive is completely unresponsive.
