How can I confirm that the iTunes server is running on my device?  I have an app that is supposed to connect to an iTunes server, but it keeps saying connection refused.  While I am not ruling out the app itself, I want to make sure that the iTunes server is running.  I have tried to telnet to it via port 3689, and it does not reply.  Should I be using a different port?

If you have Itunes installed on your pc or mac can itunes see the unit and its library? If not then something is wrong, either the unit, firewall, or something, dont use this feature so need more info like the app you are using and a port number, maybe your port forwarding is not right on the router, if you have a gateway and a router then you need to port forward twice,( its a pain fyi),
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people
